Holidays

A nostalgic reminder of the values of Christmas and the holiday season. I hope everyone can find their happiness this time of year.

Holidays

Christmas was a magical time. No school, all the decorations, parades, ornaments, Christmas baking. It was a great time to be a kid. Now as an adult, the holidays can be overwhelming.

Decorating for the holidays feels like a chore. Gift giving feels like an obligation. The sales and obscene consumerism starts November 1st and will continue well into January. It's enough to trigger stress and anxiety and I'm not sure this is what Christmas was supposed to be about. I miss a simpler time.

I hate the idea of people taking on debt because they feel pressured into buying gift. Again, I don’t think that was supposed to be the goal of Christmas.

I’m pairing back a little. Yes, I still am getting gifts for people but I’m going to embrace more traditional holidays values.

I encourage you to make your own lists but for me this year. I want MORE:

Lights- YES!

Christmas Tunes - Double YES!

Christmas Treats - YES!

Making more of an effort to see friends and family - Of course!

Less:

Gift buying, Decorating, Parties

Make this Christmas your own. Find happiness in the small things, the wonders of Christmas. Spread kindness.

Spend an afternoon making Edible Ornament - That's a YES!
